March 4, 2014, "The Blues"

Still and quiet!!
That's the best headline to describe the start of the day so far. At the Well House stop, none of the usual regulars were present. There was a new cosmetology student and George, who has now become a friend of comp and takes the Silver Sands bus. Also present was the young cheerful mother with 2 primary aged children (YCM2PC). I remarked  to comp that somehow her personality reminds me of NC, a fun loving free spirit. When she came to the stop with one child , I asked her where was the other one, and she said he was coming behind, but when I looked, he was nowhere in sight. She said he's always stopping to look at things, as so said, he came running around the corner. At the same time, the Silver Sands bus came and because the little boy was running on the sidewalk, he had to pace the bus behind him to avoid a collision in the event the boy fell. YCM2PC and the children took this bus, along with George and the cosmetology student.  We were now alone.

The next vehicle to come was a  SLC minivan which we opted to take.   It was quite noticeable that there was a reduction in the usual commuters this morning. The theory  was mooted that the the news of the pending bus strike, caused some persons to make alternative travel arrangements. The strike has however been averted.  On the way passing Long Bay, two buses came up one after the other, suggesting that the earlier services were not sent on time.

So we took the Minivan, which filled very quickly and the conductress began her routine of 'maximising' the space by arranging the passengers in the most efficient use of the standing room. All the while, we were passing all the regular school children, who waited for the Transport Board bus.

It was then that the dots started to connect and the reasons for the events so far, became clearer.

THE BLUES

Today, I happened to be wearing a baby blue shirt this  colour.  The last time I wore this colour, similar events occurred. (You can recap those here.) Coupled with the other recently discovered effects of blue:
  • No Transport Board buses (bus blues)
  • Having to take minivans
  • The colour blue associated with sadness and depression
  • Near sighted people mistaking trashcans for people.
It is a wonder, how this colour became associated with things unusual and negative, blue moons, music blues, etc..

The trip to Town was quick and  smooth and we arrived in less than an hour.

I will be careful to monitor the events today and determined to change the mood of the colour.

In that event, Have a Green Day!!

Vaya con Dios!

  1. The 'colour' which you have indicated appears to be the 'color' of my aquamarine uniform. I wear this 'kolor' every working day and I do not encounter any drastic, melodramatic, daily 'blues.' I does appear however that Comp_a has more influence on your ability to determine 'cool-airs'than you are willing to admit. Where I come from....baby blue looks more like this https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1932867218698176630#allposts

  2. The colour shown above is indeed aqua, I could not find the exact match. The important point is the blues effect. 'I guess that why they call it the blues...." as the song goes. I know the colour has no impact, but I'm still uncomfortable with non-earth tones..
