Another slow day, on the SLC. The road was light and free flowing and not many persons on the streets. As yesterday, not many persons at the stop. Ms. Shewsbury was out early and took the Bridgetown Bayfield. There was no Ideal Restaurant, Alt Comp, QOTY, YCM2PC or the other regulars. Comp corrected me about the name of her Silver Sands friend. I mistakenly called him George yesterday, him name is Grantley, (so, picky!!).
On the Long Bay stretch, NC boarded the bus, wearing her aquamarine blue. I realised that today she was at the bus stop before you get to the garbage cans. This was a great assistance to Comp as it alleviated her confusion between the blue cans and the blue uniforms. I am now considering giving a pair of the high magnification reading glasses as a gift, to see if that would help solve the problem. After all, what are friends for!! NC sat behind Comp and the convention was complete. I'm sure that other commuters were wondering what was happening as the conversation started and continued across the aisles.
Surprising today, few of the students were present except the BDD who boarded at her usual stop. The only other regular we saw was the Julianna lookalike.
Because of the scattered seating, contact was limited and everyone sat and enjoyed a peaceful trip. I had a brief conversation with 'Row2 Left' as a driver pulled abruptly to the side of the bus. The bus driver had pulled into the lay-by and just as the bus was about to move the car driver pulled up, the bus driver almost exited but saw the car on time.
The only surprise was the almost magical appearance of the Kolij twins in the bus at Maxwell. At the Maxwell stop at the Luigi's sign, Comp pointed out to me the YRMWPD, I was pleased to see her as we were talking about her the day before and her connection to the sisters. Just as I looked up from the window, the twins were seen standing next to Comp. It appears that they were given a ride down to Maxwell, (hence the absence from the stop) and had just boarded the bus. Comp had a brief conversation with them, a friendship seems to be developing.
It is amazing how these simple interactions are forming gentle bonds between otherwise strangers on the buses. To me it makes for a friendlier society and more pleasant world to be in.
The bus creeped by traffic at Top Rock and then flowed freely onward. The blue garbage can NC got out at her stop and we carried on safely the rest of the way.
¡Bendiciones! (Blessings!)
Ammmmmmm.......Comp_o.........budddy.......pal.......Bill Nye.........Gestapo apprentice.........wizard.......soothsayer......Howbeit that????? ?....That you are able to chronicle your bus journey an entire day in advance of its actual occurence???? How seeeth thou then so brilliantly into the future??? ?.......Is this of God .........or baal??.......scary!!
ReplyDeleteForesight is a skill that all should have. It was a genuine error. I took the date from my watch which was a day ahead. I've made the correction now. Thanks anyway!!!
