Today, I took Castle Bus as the line was long and a 4.30 bus was at the gate. I was standing in the area by the reserved seats and a young primary school boy, was seated in front of me. An elderly man entered and a passenger asked the boy to stand, he protested vehemently and the senior indicated that he was not going to far and preferred to not to sit. Then an elderly lady got in somewhere in the Oistin's area, and asked the little boy to give her his seat. The second time around the boy seemed compelled to give up the seat and he stood for the woman, saying he was soon getting out at the top of Thornbury Hill. This lady was rather bold as she started up a conversation with the boy, asking him where he went to school etc..
Later, as I got a seat next to her at Gemswick, it was my turn. She took me off guard as she stared at what I was reading on my ipad, until I decided to close it. Then, she started to quizz me, what was my name? Where did I live? I told her Wellhouse and she asked me, if I was living there for a long time? She said she was from the Long Bay area and gave me a full description of the area.
I next received a call from a work colleague and on overhearing the conversation she asked what work I did? When I replied accountant, she asked if I knew some person by name. The name was not familiar to me and when I asked her where the person worked she could not say. I noticed that other passengers in the bus were snickering as she was quizzing me, they seemed to know her and was accustomed to her antics. I'm sure they were amused that she had snared another victim. She soon got at in Long Bay and I was released from her interrogation.
The bus soon reached Well House and at last safely home!
