February 17 2014 'the wacker pole'

The day started slowly, with the buses running very slowly. At 6.30 there were no buses to be seen, so we took the minibus, the old driver with the farebox. What was interesting was the man on the bus with a weed wacker. He was seated in the first row directly behind in driver. The wacker was on the ground with the motor on the floor and the shaft in the air, almost touching the top of the bus. He also had a plastic bag tied over the spinning head of the machine. Every one that got into the bus mistook the shaft of the wacker for a standing pole, and then had to struggle to keep their balance as the pole would move under their body weight. This happened to about 5 passengers, much to the amusement of the seated passengers , especially Comp.

The stretch along Top Rock was slow going, the reason was not realised until we reached Divi, where we saw the police carrying out vehicle checks for taxes and insurance.

Blessings!!
