February 28, 2014 'the seating order'

Today, the prodigal comp returned!!! She came at my home as the rain was falling and immediately told me to find my umbrella. Not even an offer of assistance to a poor, shelterless traveller. Obviously, she never heard the parable of the sheep and goats, about him that 'does kindness to the least of these my brethren'. After the rain came down harder and the broken umbrella I was forced to use, did not work, the weight of guilt on her conscience cause her to capitulate and offer me a 'corner shelter' during that 'torrential downpour' to the bus stop. ¡Gloria a Dios! At the stop I got my broken umbrella to work and was saved from drowning. By the way, on the way across, her mentor 'Gestapo', observed from out of the shadows and said something about "getting a brolley".

At the stop a more recent posee member, ms. Shewsbury, said that the bus had just gone up and would soon be down. Ms 'question of the year' was there, but no ideal restaurant, rosemary or marido y muyer. A bayfield bridgetown bus came down and surprisingly, a gentleman who normally takes the silver sands bus got in. We were initially wondering if he realised that he had taken the wrong bus (as a person did recently), but ms. Shewsbury surmised that he was not probably going to work, as he did not have his usual workbag. I complemented her on her keen observation. This just underscored that remarkable skill of bajans who are 'brilliant at observation' or are just like an unnamed prodigal friend I have, just 'malicious'.

As the bus was about to leave, rosemary came up in her husband's car. I told the driver that she was also taking the bus and he waited for her to enter (my scout's honor). She sat behind comp, in the seat with row 2.

It is amazing that a distinct pattern is followed by the commuters on the bus, and everyone takes their customary seat or place. Penny takes a seat 2 rows behind the bus door. Me and comp take the first seat on the driver's side, behind the reserved seats. Behind us would be row 2 and rosemary, and on the other side another lady to be called 'row 2 left', as she also always sits in that seat. In rosemary's absence, NC would normally sit in rosemary's place in the second row. In the reserved seats, sleepy head would sit in the last place just before the first row and BDD in the same row or on the other side of the aisle. For those standing, unspeakable (UPP) would stand in the aisle just before or after me and Julianna on the other side of the aisle normally backing UPP.

At long bay, the young rl got in, I pointed her out to comp as my bus companion for the past two days, but as the bus was getting full she had to go to the back of the bus. None of the other regulars were present today, sleepy head or kolij sisters or BDD, Julianna got on at foul bay but UPP was absent.

While on the bus I received an email with a youtube link from NC. I started a BB conversation with ENC and at certain points it was speculated whether comp was actually really expelled from the girl guides.

To my concern, Jamilla and her sisters were absent again and I wonder if she is indeed suffering from colour trauma. Maybe it was the agrofest today that kept the school children away, as many students were not seen on the bus.

The road was clear and traffic flowing freely so we made good time. It was another uneventful trip and on reaching town, I realised that the traffic restrictions were already in place. The challenges would begin when trying to get home. That would be another chronicle.

¡Bendiciones! (Blessings!)
